PIENUD
Cookie and tracker policy
Effective from 01/10/2026
1. PURPOSE OF THE POLICY
This Cookie and Tracker Policy explains how ALF, operating under the trade name PIENUD, uses cookies, pixels, tags, identifiers and similar technologies when browsing and using the PIENUD website.
It supplements PIENUD’s Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy as well as the Terms of Use and Legal Notice.
This policy applies to visitors to the website, whether or not they have a customer account and whether or not they place an order.
2. WEBSITE CONTROLLER
The PIENUD website is published and operated by ALF, a simplified joint-stock company with share capital of EUR 5,000, whose registered office is located at 25 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 109 506 246 R.C.S. Paris.
Trade name: PIENUD.
Email address: contact@pienud.com.
For any question relating to cookies, online tracking or the exercise of privacy choices, the user may write to contact@pienud.com.
3. WHAT IS A COOKIE OR TRACKER?
A cookie is a small file or identifier stored or read on the user’s device, for example a computer, smartphone or tablet, when visiting a website.
The term “tracker” also covers other technologies that may have a similar function, in particular pixels, web beacons, local identifiers, SDKs, measurement technologies, scripts or other mechanisms allowing recognition of a device, browser or session.
These technologies may be used to ensure the operation of the website, remember preferences, measure audience, secure operations, analyse performance or, where the user consents, personalise content and measure or deliver advertising.
4. SHOPIFY PLATFORM AND CONSENT MANAGEMENT
The PIENUD store is operated on the Shopify platform.
Shopify uses cookies and similar technologies necessary for the operation of the store, cart, authentication, security, checkout and associated services.
PIENUD uses the privacy and consent mechanisms available in Shopify to record choices expressed by visitors and to transmit those choices to the relevant Shopify features.
Where consent is required, non-essential purposes such as analytics, personalisation or marketing must not be activated before the user has expressed a corresponding positive choice.
5. CATEGORIES OF COOKIES AND TRACKERS
PIENUD may use the categories of cookies and trackers described below.
Strictly necessary cookies.
These cookies are essential for the operation of the website and the provision of services expressly requested by the user. They may in particular allow retention of cart contents, maintenance of a session, checkout, remembering certain steps in the journey, securing access to the website, fraud prevention, technical load balancing or operation of the privacy choice management module.
Where these trackers are strictly necessary for the operation of the requested service or website security, they may be used without prior consent under the conditions provided for by regulations.
Preference and personalisation cookies.
These trackers may remember choices such as language, country, currency, certain display preferences or other settings intended to improve and personalise the browsing experience.
Where consent is required for their use, they are activated only after the user’s choice.
Audience measurement and analytics cookies.
These trackers make it possible to understand how the website is used, to measure the number of visits, pages viewed, browsing paths, technical performance, interactions with products and conversions.
PIENUD may in particular use, when enabled, tools such as Shopify analytics features and Google Analytics or equivalent solutions.
Where these tools do not benefit from a consent exemption, they are activated only after the user’s agreement.
Advertising or marketing cookies and trackers.
These trackers make it possible to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, attribute conversions, limit ad repetition, build audiences or, where permitted, display advertising tailored to the user’s presumed interests.
PIENUD may in particular use, when enabled, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Meta advertising tools, TikTok Pixel or other advertising solutions compatible with Shopify.
These trackers are activated only after consent where such consent is required.
Social network cookies and features.
Where the website integrates content, buttons or features from social networks or third-party platforms, these services may place or read trackers to enable the service, measure interaction or personalise content.
Where these trackers are not strictly necessary, their activation is subject to the user’s consent.
6. TOOLS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS THAT MAY BE USED
Depending on the store configuration at the time of the visit, PIENUD may use the following services or technologies: Shopify and its native features; Shopify Customer Privacy; Shopify Analytics; Shopify Payments; Shop Pay; Google Analytics; Google Ads; Meta Pixel and Meta advertising tools; TikTok Pixel; as well as Shopify apps or technical solutions necessary for operation, security, audience measurement, marketing and consent management.
The actual presence of certain tools may change according to PIENUD’s needs. Non-essential trackers subject to consent remain blocked until the user has accepted them.
Third-party tools may also apply their own privacy and cookie policies when they act for their own purposes.
7. COLLECTION OF CONSENT
Where consent is required, PIENUD presents the user with a mechanism allowing them to express their choice before activation of the relevant cookies and trackers.
The user must be able to accept or refuse non-essential trackers with an equivalent degree of simplicity.
Simply continuing to browse the website, scrolling a page or closing the banner without a positive acceptance action does not constitute consent to the use of trackers that require consent.
The user may also make a choice by category or purpose using the preference management panel when this option is offered.
8. WITHDRAWAL OR MODIFICATION OF CONSENT
The user may modify their choices or withdraw their consent at any time, as easily as they were able to give it.
A link or mechanism for managing cookie preferences is made accessible from the website, in particular from the footer or the privacy device offered by Shopify.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before that withdrawal.
After withdrawal, the relevant non-essential trackers cease to be used for refused purposes, subject to the technical time needed to take account of the new choice and data already processed in accordance with regulations.
9. RETENTION PERIOD FOR CONSENT CHOICES
PIENUD retains the choice expressed by the user, whether acceptance or refusal, for a period that avoids soliciting the user excessively.
In accordance with CNIL recommendations, PIENUD generally retains consent or refusal choices for six months, subject to regulatory or technical changes or a configuration requiring a different justified period.
At the end of this period, the website may ask the user to express their choice again.
10. LIFETIME OF COOKIES AND TRACKERS
The lifetime of cookies and trackers varies according to their function, provider and configuration.
Strictly necessary cookies are retained for the period necessary for the operation of the relevant service, some being deleted when the session closes and others possibly persisting for a limited period.
Measurement, personalisation or advertising cookies are retained for the period defined by the relevant provider and within the limits authorised by regulations.
Where the consent manager displays details of active services or trackers, the user may consult available information on their purpose and duration.
11. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Certain service providers used by PIENUD or Shopify may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area, in particular the United States or Canada.
Where personal data from cookies or trackers is subject to an international transfer, it must be governed by a mechanism provided for by the GDPR, in particular an adequacy decision, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or any other legal mechanism offering appropriate safeguards.
Further information on data transfers is available in PIENUD’s Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy.
12. DATA PROCESSED BY TRACKERS
Depending on the tracker concerned and the user’s choice, information that may be processed may include IP address, device or browser identifiers, information relating to the browser and operating system, session information, language, approximate location, pages viewed, products viewed, searches, cart additions, checkout steps, purchases, interactions with content, campaigns that led to a visit and conversion events.
PIENUD endeavours to limit data collected to what is necessary for the relevant purposes.
13. BROWSER SETTINGS
The user may also configure their browser to block, delete or limit certain cookies.
These settings are independent of the consent mechanism offered by PIENUD.
Blocking certain strictly necessary cookies may degrade or prevent the operation of certain essential website features, in particular the cart, authentication or checkout.
14. RIGHTS RELATING TO PERSONAL DATA
Where cookies or trackers lead to the processing of personal data, the user benefits, under the conditions provided for by the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, from rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and, where applicable, portability.
Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Any request may be sent to contact@pienud.com.
The user may also contact the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL) if they consider that their rights are not respected.
15. AMENDMENT OF THE COOKIE POLICY
PIENUD may amend this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the website, tools used, regulations, recommendations of competent authorities or practices of Shopify and its partners.
The applicable version is the one published on the website at the time of consultation.
Where an amendment substantially affects purposes or consent conditions, PIENUD may ask the user to express their choices again.
